Verysell Projects set to create an electronic workflow system for Russia’s leading law firm
Verysell Projects has initiated the implementation of an electronic workflow system for the law firm, “Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners.” Nominated in February of this year as the “European Law Firm of the Year” at the Legal Business Awards ceremony in London, Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners was the first and only Russian law firm to have been nominated for the award.
The project’s primary goals, includes: expediting work processes with client cases and documentation, reducing the risk of loss of valuable information, and finally, increasing the company’s business effectiveness in defending the interests of its clients in Russia and abroad.
Verysell Projects’ approach to the creation of an electronic workflow system for the law firm, Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners, involves utilizing a software system, Document Management for Legal, designed by the Open Text Corporation. The system’s functionality is designed to serve the needs and demands of a law firm. It’s estimated that within the next three months an electronic workflow system configuration will be constructed that will satisfy the company’s demands and which will connect each user in the Moscow law office, and in the future, connect other offices in Russia and abroad. Implementation of the module, Document Management for Legal, will be the first step in the creation of a concept widely referred to as ‘Matter-Centric Desktop,’ using the Open Text platform (formerly Hummingbird Enterprise) and which serves as a standard of practice for many leading Western law firms. The essence of ‘matter-centric desktop’ is the creation of a subject-based workspace for lawyers using portal technology, where generally speaking, ‘web-tables’ will have access to work documents, electronic mail, work schedules and other essential information pertaining to cases that are currently being handled by staff.
According to Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners, the decision to select Verysell Projects as the vendor to deliver a solution was based on the fact that the company has demonstrated an impressive technological expertise with the Open Text product line. Moreover, the project group’s specialists have hands-on work experience in law firms that command top ratings in the list of AmLaw 100 Leading US Legal Firms, and in the internationally renowned ‘Big Four.” Dmitri Afanasiev, Committee Partner Chairman of Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners, had this to say, “In our work, we endeavor to comply with the highest of international standards, and with the opening of our office in London the scale of our activities is becoming more and more international. Lags in technology once found in Russian law firms, in comparison to their foreign counterparts, are becoming a thing of the past.”
